OPEC+ keeps December oil output unchanged: Why Iran war disruptions cloud 2027 production plans

livemint.comSummary
OPEC+ oil-producing countries have kept their December production targets unchanged, signalling that the group is unlikely to make further changes to its output policy until next year as the Iran war continues to disrupt oil exports from the Middle East, Reuters reported. The decision was taken at an online meeting on Sunday by seven key members — Saudi Arabia, Russia, Iraq, Kuwait, Algeria, Kazakhstan and Oman. The group said in a statement that it would maintain its existing production targets for December. The move comes as Gulf producers attempt to increase exports despite months of disruption caused by the conflict. However, most are still producing well below their agreed targets, limiting the amount of additional oil reaching global markets.
